The reality of pay stations in situ

The reality of pay stations in situ

After all these years in business, we still get childishly excited when we see our locpad kiosks being used 'in the wild'. This usually includes some picture taking and awkward, middle-aged high fives in the queue. All this of course seems a bit baffling to the person trying to serve us behind the counter! What we love is seeing our products used from the smallest of operations such as pop-up food stores, all the way through to global hotel and restaurant chains. What we dread, is seeing our products where the install or cabling is messy and all over the place. Sometimes the client has changed the tablet model and shoehorned the new one in even through it clearly doesn't fit properly. Sometimes there's a lot of cabling connectivity required for the solution, and the tablet kiosk isn't designed with that in mind.

Here's a payment station I saw the other day with one of the handsome bouncepad Eddy stands. Bouncepad are a highly respected competitor of ours, and it's great to see British brands prospering. I think the bouncepad Eddy is well designed and looks great, but the moment you need to add power, network, a card reader and receipt printer.. They start to look a bit cluttered.

It's something we've been considering lately, and we're working on a new locpad with a bit more space inside for power / data splitters and cable management. Watch this space! In the meantime if you need to change the tablet inside your locpad, just contact us and we can sort new internal fit kits and faceplates so the install looks awesome!
