The All New iPad 10.9 2022 - Don't get confused!

The introduction of a new model of iPad is ALWAYS a little stressful here at Armourdog. As a result of the new technology we, as a team, now spend the next 3-6 months checking and double checking every order that comes in. Making sure we're supplying the right model case for your orders.  There is a substantial difference between this 2022 10.9 and all previous 10.9" iPads. Please take note. 

Here's a quick summary of what we're looking at in respect to the new cases and how you can determine which model you have.

WHICH VERSION OF THE IPAD DO I HAVE?

On the back of each iPad (in very small type) is the model number.  Most people will struggle to read this, so we suggest taking a photo and then enlarging.  You can email or call us with the number to advise.  For the iPad 2022 10.9" you are looking at model numbers A2589 or A2591

Or you can go into the settings menu on the iPad and it will then give the details of the model number along with generation number and iPad product title (Model Name).

It looks like this 

Some of the newer model numbers are different from the original ‘A’ numbers on the rear of the tablet and will be called the Manufacturers Part Number (MPN) and will look like MM9E3B/A ie prefixed with letters such as ‘MM’ and have more numbers following them.

The new iPad 10.9 2022 also comes with the European standard charger USB-TYPE C.  It doesn't come with the Apple lightening connector which its predecessor had.  Great for everyone at home, one less charging cable to hunt around for!

WHICH CASE IS SUITABLE FOR YOU? 

The new iPad comes in some really gorgeous colours - pink, yellow, blue and white.  So if you're fortunate enough to have a colour then you can be pretty sure you've got the latest 10.9.  We've introduced some colour cases too. You'll find these here. Please remember these coloured cases come with a stylus holder on the front, non adjustable but easy wipe down handstrap and they dont come with tempered glass as standard.    With these Rugged 360 cases the stylus holder is on the front and side of the case for easy access.

If you're looking for a full adjustable hand strap and shoulder strap we've got some in black, pink and blue.  Here the stylus holder is just an elastic tab on the back hand strap.  So not as robust and doesn't incorporate any in-case charging.

IF YOU THINK YOU'VE RECEIVED THE WRONG CASE?

How can we help you determine if you've got the wrong case?  Well for the older editions of the iPad 10.9 the camera cut out on the rear of the case is a RECTANGULAR shape where as for the new 2020 iPad 10.6 it's an elipse shape. See here…

WHAT IF I THINK I HAVE THE WRONG TEMPERED GLASS?

Yes there will be a big difference here too! The 2022 10.9 TEMPERED GLASS camera cut out is on  the  LANDSCAPE (longest edge) side . The previous models of 10.9 the camera cut out is on the PORTRAIT (shortest side) edge of the glass.
