Armourdog International Shipping - Changes as of 1st July 2026

Armourdog International Shipping - Changes as of 1st July 2026

What’s changed?

Effective July 1, 2026, the de minimis exemption for low value goods was removed. Shipments to consumers with an intrinsic value not exceeding €150 are now subject to a €3 duty per line item on the customs declaration.

PID's Required?

Business to consumer sellers are required to provide Product Identifiers (PIDs). This is the first time information is required at individual product level for customs declarations, and marks a significant change for sellers when shipping their goods into the EU. If we don’t have the right information in compliance with the new regulation relating to products sold in the EU, your shipments can’t be cleared and your customers won’t receive their goods.

What are PIDs?

PIDs are codes used to identify manufacturers, sellers and their products. From July 1, 2026, for each product imported into the EU in a B2C shipment, regardless of value, these codes must be provided to the customs authorities during the clearance process. This will be enforced from November 1, 2026.

What does this mean for our consumer customers (rather than B2B)

It does mean we won't approve every international order.  We will need to invoice you for the additional costs, even if you've placed the order online in the first instance.  Yes its messy! Its not ideal but hopefully over the coming months our software platform will update along with the changing regulations and we'll be able to continue to make this process smoother. For now, B2C orders will be challenged on an order by order basis.

B2C Shipments are they changing?

From July 1, 2026, we require B2C sellers to provide the product identifier codes mentioned above to the courier on their Commercial Invoice and shipping application. This applies for goods imported into the EU, sold direct to consumers and through marketplaces, regardless of value. B2B Shipments PIDs are not required for B2B VAT registered recipients in the destination country. The charging mechanism will be the standard rate of duty (a % of the value of the goods). Information is accurate and valid as of August 26, 2026 Below is a clear example of how line items should be entered on your Commercial Invoices and supporting documentation, such as packing lists:

Why does it matter?

Customs Authorities are requesting the PID concept to perform risk analysis and provide better control on products arriving into the EU customs territory, to ensure the safety of the EU citizens.

What are armourdog doing to help?

Currently all our B2B orders have and will continue to have the HS codes and the GTIN/EAN numbers and we will continue to provide these.

We have registed our details and can now ship to Europe with our EORI numbers and IOSS numbers to cover your VAT and Duties up front.

Please note there will STILL be at 3 euro charge for you the customer, per product HS code , we are unable to cover this cost. We will charge you on the invoice prior to shipping.

What do you need to do?

If you are in mainland Europe or our friends in Ireland and Northern Ireland these rules are still applicable.  Give us a call or email us your order requirements and we'll give you a full quotation before we ship.

Example's of what we will provide

For this particular type of order I reference

B2C France / IOSS / goods ≤ €150 / 2 commodity classifications = €6 temporary EU customs duty

That "per tariff classification, not per quantity" point is particularly important for your future calculations.

What does the future hold?

We are working along side all the changes as and when they happen, this will help us provide a more inclusive price for our international customers and help our solutions ship with minimal issues.  As the rules change, we will change and adapt too.
