The 2021 Apple iPad Family including the new 10.2 9th generation iPad and the iPad mini 6

Apple Releases iPad 10.2 and iPad mini 6

Apple has announced the new 9th generation iPad, delivering greater performance and capability to their most popular iPad without compromising battery life.

Both the iPad 10.2 and iPad mini 6 benefit from new versions, allowing customers to buy an iPad in keeping with Apple’s recently released iPhones and iPads.

So what can you expect from the latest iPads?
Let’s find out!

iPad 10.2 (2021)

With prices starting from £319, the new iPad promises versatility, making it ideal for those needing a tablet for work, entertainment, and connecting with others. Compatible with Apple Pencil and the Smart Keyboard, users can write and type up notes with ease.

Featuring the A13 Bionic, the new iPad delivers a 20% performance boost over last year’s model, making the iPad more responsive than previous models and allowing the use of multiple apps at once. One of the most important updates is to the base storage. The latest iPad now starts at 64GB, double the amount of storage on the previous generation. There is also a 256GB option for users requiring more space.

Boasting an all-day battery life, the Retina display is also perfect for watching movies, and the iPad now features True Tone as standard. The 12MP Ultra Wide front camera provides high-quality imagery for selfies and group shots, as well as video conferences, while the 8MP Wide camera at the rear of the iPad can be used for capturing photos and video, as well as scanning documents and delivering immersive AR apps.

One of the most interesting features is that the enclosure is made up of 100% recycled aluminium. This, alongside the 100% recycled tin in the solder of the main logic board and the 100% recycled rare earth elements in the magnets of the enclosure, marks a major milestone for Apple, helping them move towards their goal of having a net-zero climate impact across the business by 2030.

iPad mini 6 (2021)

The iPad mini also gets a new edition, boasting mega power and mini size from £479. With a larger 8.3-inch Liquid Retina display with True Tone, it uses a new A15 Bionic chip for up to 80% faster performance than the previous generation. Available in four finishes, pink, starlight, purple, and space grey, it has the same compact footprint as previous generations.

Like the latest iPad, the iPad mini 6 supports Apple Pencil, so you can use your pencil on the edge-to-edge screen with ease. The Apple Pencil attaches magnetically to the side of the iPad mini. It also has an all-day battery life and ultrafast connections so you can download and stream on the go.

It features a 12MP Ultra Wide front camera with Centre Stage, allowing for video conferences to appear more natural, and the Wide camera on the back is 12MP, allowing for exceptional photos. It also utilises True Tone flash on the back, enabling you to scan documents with ease.

The latest iPad mini has iPadOS 15, allowing you to multitask and open different applications at the same time. It makes it easy for you to work on different projects at once. One of the most interesting changes is to the home button, which now has an embedded Touch ID with a fingerprint sensor over the power button.

Who Are The New iPads Suitable For?

These updates to the iPads are promising, and the price of the new iPad 10.2 makes it ideally suited to anyone looking to buy their first iPad. The changes to the iPad 10.2 and the iPad mini 6 means that anyone looking to replace an older iPad will find this to be the perfect solution, with a more responsive tablet and high-quality display.
